the freedom writers' something like half nelson. or you can say half nelson is something like the freedom writers. they're all about underprivileged kids against a teacher with personal issues with a noble cause. there's a tonn more movies based on true stories with a story line like that, only with a different medium. dance, sport, history, drugs.

what is like, to teach?

it's in my blood to roam, and make the world my home. i am the travel people, 也可说是没有家的人。

i abandoned my fiddle for the period of time i needed it out of my life, and i revived my passion for it. now i'm doing the same to my camera and visuals. because i need to be better.

in my VBA code window, i keyed in the stupidest code and killed excel

Public Sub DoLoops()

Do While Range("A1") <= 50
Range("A1").Value = Range("A1").Value * 2
Loop

End Sub

when my range("A1") reads "0".
i'm so brilliant.

buses in aussie. i've half a mind to dig out the pictures of buses in china and singapore. but i think thats plain stupid.

what has bach done to me!

i miss malaysia. like how strange.

i seriously feel like a koala bear now. and koala bears sleep for 17 hours each day. i'm nearly there.

sticky rice, raw fish and prawns are still swimming in my stomach. the jellybeans are drowning in liquid hot fudge sundae. and mos burger too.

koala bear says sleep. but 元 cant sleep.

*clicks on windows media player icon, selects bach.
because bach aids in my digestion.

there is one group of people who lives forever in the shadow of the question, ‘should i?’ And there’s another who spends their lives telling themselves ‘i should (have)’ done this 'i should (have)' done that.

one's fickle. the other, regrets.
one self-doubts. the other thought he had contemplated it all.

but they have something in common: both wasted life.

at 1130pm, i finished a bag of crisps and a big portion of soup. hunger pangs. the chips are like tokens to get my brains working. so i had to feed them a second one, a third one...and the last one from the bag.

i retire.

want to see bird doing catwalk? look at the one on the right.

i like to stay awake on coaches for shots like these the others missed.

Because people always have problems looking at things from the third, forth, fifth perspective.

Usually nothing goes exactly two-way.
How many can you see from just this picture alone? 3, 4, 5? perhaps even 6 or 7.

Don’t forget you’re relating to the photo. that places you into another perspective as well.

Be strong. affliction, agony, anguish, bad news, big trouble, blow, blues, distress, dolor, grieving, hardship, heartache, heartbreak, lamenting, melancholy, misery, misfortune, mourning, pain, rain, regret, remorse, repentance, rue, sadness, suffering, trial, tribulation, trouble, unhappiness, upset, weeping, woe, worry, wretchedness. the right mentality washes them all away.

for everyone out there.
i saw light. a cause.
a drive. a direction. all mapped out. what else do you need.
scribble it in my notebook. i'll grant you.

"To all trekkers fanatics! Join NUS Rovers' May-June treks! We have short trips like Berkelah Waterfall, Ophir and Datuk to cater to beginner trekkers. For the more avid trekkers we have other interesting places like Taman Negara and Gunung Stong. To those who are interested in caving, abseiling and rock climbing, Batu Cave is the place for you. For those who seek for more challenging treks, Rinjani, Indonesia's 3rd highest volcano would be the place for you! "

i'm going for one of those. (i think the trips are opened to outsider; they did not specify. so join me, if you dare.)

i'm one of them, the travelling people.

back to the violin, er hu, ballet and school routine. parents-less, and half lonely.

pick up the spirit!
i'm a bit lazy on the aussie updates. weekends, maybe.

the post for 11th march is done. you've seriously got to click and see the enlarged pictures to witness the beauty of each shot. apparently the photos didnt turn out that well due to the scaled down in size by blogger, so if you want to see the really beautiful australian sky, click on the pictures!

please explain yourself.

i'm back from my 10 days adventure to this obsessively structured little city of mine. this trip to sydney, canberra, gold coast and brisbane has had taught me great things.

i've sketched out some entries on notepad a few days back but believe me, uploading the photos and making sure the sequence runs is a pain in the neck. i've decided to blog according to the actual dates of my visit so you probably have to scroll around instead for updates. the first 2 days are done. i'm too tired to go on further.

there're loads to learn.

80% hooked onto cyber cafe (cant upload the picts using public comps so bear with it a few more days). i do my usuals: sign in to msn, check my mails, blog hop. but now i do one more thing, i game. playboy is funny.

spent a day at canberra today. that place's like 4 hours away from sydney. tomorrow would be my last at sydney, i'm flying to brisbane. i hope gold coast's good!

see you guys soon. do take care!

Off Sydney, Hunters valley

i know you gonna ask if i went hunting.

NOPE. i didnt. hunters' valley's no hunting ground. it's just a place with vineyards after vineyards.we went wine tasting, and had lunch at a cosy little resturant with interiors looking tonnes better than how the food tasted. westerns not a thing for us, seriously.

and we went pelican watching. they feed them, we just watch them feed them. i dont like pelicans, especially their mocking eyes (that looks like plastic buttons). they're unsincere, sly looking creatures. i know i can get pretty strange.

Off Sydney, Blue Mountains and Featherland
we went on tour which was arranged by our parents' conference people. i hate tours because they chase us like wild goose, but we cant do without it if we want to travel the rural regions. even if we do know how to drive, there are loads of unfamiliar traffic signs along the australian roads. (their red man flashes, their green man doesnt)

i could have spent one whole day at blue moutains. there're loads of things to look at there, besides the three sister moutains. we could have trekked, climbed the mountains all that but i didnt get a chance. because we had to make our way down to the featherland wildlife park to see the emus, lazy koala bears and kangaroos and their joeys.

Sydney
two of us planned out our way, and set off on a route from darling harbor to sydney's opera house. [edit: allow me to introduce to you a new friend i've made. meet helen. you'll see her appearing my in photos] we walked, from south to north sydney. and on our way we made many discoveries.
we explored the market city. the stuffs there are really cheap.

here's our breakfast, which lasted till dinner.

we crossed the Prymont Bridge, walked many streets, passed by queens victoria buidling and the sydney tower. we went to Archibald fountain, Australian museum. walked through hyde park, the royal botanic gardens where we managed to squeeze in an hour of impromptu NSW art museum visit before it closes for the day. we even walked around the farm cove from Mrs Macquaries Pt to the sydney opera house. it was such an accomplishment.
i'm so good with maps. we even took our first train ride. their trains are double decked, and you can actually eat and drink all you want, but no alcohol please. bascially it's easy to get around sydney, all you have to do is open your mouth and ask! the australian mates are all friendly and willing to help!

an english basking outside the sydney convention centre.

pretty disappointed with the opera house. old dirty tiled roofs, which is nice from a distance. it would have amazed me if we havent had an esplanade at our own bay. our durian's way nicer.

when we were still on the train back to central, our parents called and informed us about the change of hotels.
'come to crowne hotel. c-r-o-w-n-e. bye.'
we checked the map and found only crowne motel and decided thats the place they were talking about.
again we walked many many streets, which got a little bit creepy at night.
the motel's really cute but our parents were nowhere in sight. we must be at the wrong place.
so the tired, hungry and frustrated us called them again.

and they only made it clear this time,
'crowne plaza. c-r-o-w-n-e. crowne plaza hotel, it's just behind the conference center.'
what the hell. imagine how irritated we were so we decided to cab down instead. and i swear theres no crowne plaze on the map.

we had a good sumptous meal and a beatiful hotel room at the end of the day.

Singapore, Singapore, SQ (i cant remember)
00:20am, Singapore time
i was on a 7 and a half hours (roughly) midnight flight to sydney. caught a couple of movies (happy feet, stranger than friction, yada yada) and slept in intervals.

Sydney, Pacific international hotel
11:00am, Sydney time
it didnt take us two young girls too long to locate our hotel and check in though our parents gave bad instructions and werent smart enough to leave a proper message for us with the reception.

i grabbed my map and made our way to darling harbor where the conference centre is. and while our parents carry on with their conference, we explored the harbor and cockle bay.

chilling breeze and scorching sun's a weird combination. i dont know how the locals managed the short skirts and spag tops, i had to be in my jacket to feel comfortable.
i'm all wrapped up and them, tanning away at the steps along the harbor!

Hi from Sydney!

pathetic me is sitting at the hotel lobby right now using the pathetic netkiosk which charges $2 for 20 minutes. i could have served from my own hotel room at a rate of $25/day but since it's already 11:21pm right now, it doesnt make any sense at all to get the whole day thing. (you guys should be into your 19th hour by now)

there's this countdown thing at the status bar which is giving me jitters. i've exactly 10 mins and 2 seconds to go. gosh, you should really try this.

the first day was pretty good. lots of photos to share already. i'll be heading down to the opera house, royal botanic gardens, and wildlife park, aquarium and bla bla bla all in a day tomorrow.

my new found friend, who is surfing beside me, has just reminded me that it's going to be saturday soon. so might as well get the 24hours for saturday! ha. ta for now!

Singapore, Singapore, Changi Airport Terminal 2 Swensens

hey mate! before i begin the photo parades of my 10 days adventure proper, here's one for all those who missed me so very terribly.

please note: all entries were written on 15 March 10:15pm Queensland time.

these people sent me off.

to thank some of my buddies who made the trip all the way down to changi to send me off, i topped up their main courses with sides and ice creams!

swensens forgot to charge us for one of the ice cream but that just serves them right. we exchanged that with loads of patience.

have had such a great time with miss x just now. :)

oh my god, i'm going australia! i'll return with beautiful pictures.

Tuesday, March 06, 2007

she's about 1.65m.
thats quite a desirable height for the ladies.

she's dressed to fashion. she's got her hair permed, and new highlights. thats worth a 7.

i went on to check her complexion.
okay, she's not exactly there yet and it's quite obvious that she's been trying to conceal her imperfections with heavy makeup. but her features are pretty.

overall, i would give her a 8 on my stringent scale.

her phone rang and she proceeded to pick up the call.
and i gave her an immediate failure.

in contrary, i've met many people who didnt come across as pretty or handsome initially, but after engaging in a short conversation with them, i often walked away only remembering how captivating that 5 minutes were and how beautiful they are, and not the acne that was sitting on his nose nor the out-of-fashion clothes that she was in.

some people thinks that the argument and the emphasis on inner beauty is just some bullshit that the ugly people came up with to make themselves feel better. but i beg to differ. those people who claims that are largely pretty substance-less. pun intended. sour grapes? i dont think so.

pursuit of happyness fell a little below expectation.

今年元宵没吃汤圆。according to the chinese calendar, it's my birthday today. nothing joyous.

i dont want to grow up.
because at age 20, my mom has started setting me up. she has no idea how much that hurts.

it really really hurts.

please stop it.
